Overseen by its “Acquisitions and Collections Subcommittee,” the museum accepts donations that expand its collections and permanent displays. Of particular interest are items regarding: “Buffalo Bill” or William F. Cody, local riverboat pilots, the Mississippi River, Sauk and Fox tribes, and regional history.
No items are accepted “on loan” other than items sought for special exhibits scheduled throughout the year.
The museum is a 501(C)(3) non-for-profit organization. Appraisals of donated property are the responsibility of the donor; and the museum reserves the right to exhibit, transfer or otherwise use the items to the benefit of its operations.
